Financial Support coming soon!

Support for Current Students

This section offers support for current students and those who have begun their transition from the military. We currently focus on assisting with the GI Bill/VA benefits, Financial Support, and Career Opportunities for graduating veterans.

GI Bill

Before the beginning of classes make an appointment to speak with your campus VA representitve (the earlier the better). The VA rep can help you file your paperwork to receive your benefits.

  • Benefits are paid on a monthly basis: 1 month of classes = 1 month of benefits.
  • The amount of benefit depends on the length of your service and the number of classes you take.
  • For more information e the VA website: www.gibill.va.gov

Financial Support

Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA): www.fafsa.ed.gov

FAFSA is the standard financial aid form. It calculates your eligibility for federal financial aid and sends your completed FAFSA form to the financial aif office at your college. The information on your FAFSA form determines what type of aid and how much you can recieve. For example, a Pell Grant is money you recieve from the government to help pay for school. Unlike loans, you do not owe anything. The FAFSA form also determines your eligibility to recieve loans. There are two types of loans: subsidised and unsubsidised loans. Unsubsidised loans are typical loans which accumulate interest. Subsidised loans are loans which you do not have to pay until three months after you graduate. In addition, they do not accumulate interest while you are enrolled in school.

Scholarships: Most scholarships which proclaim to be for veterans are actually for the children of veterans. If you are the son or daughter of a veteran, you have more scholarship potential as a son of a veteran than as a veteran. This section will focus on scholarships for veterans. Scholarships for veterans are few, so if there is a scholarship for veterans not listed here please let us know so we may update this page.
